On October 16, the north section of the natural gas pipeline of the eastern China Russia line, the key control project of the natural gas project of the eastern China Russia line, was completed. In the construction process of the project, the 3847t X80 (d1422mm × 57mm) pipe fitting steel supplied by WISCO is the pipe fitting steel order with the thickest thickness, the largest pipe diameter and the highest technical difficulty currently applied in the project in China.

China Russia east gas project is the largest practical cooperation project between China and Russia, and also a major strategic project of global natural gas cooperation. According to the agreement, Russia will supply natural gas to China through the east line of China Russia natural gas pipeline. The gas transmission volume will increase year by year, eventually reaching 38 billion cubic meters per year, accumulating for 30 years. The project starts from Heihe River in Heilongjiang Province and ends in Shanghai. It passes through 9 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government). It needs to build 3170 km pipeline.

Due to the special environmental conditions of the project: Heihe city is located in the cold temperate continental monsoon climate zone, with the lowest gas temperature up to minus 40 degrees Celsius, so the requirements for pipe fittings steel are strict. The X80 pipe fitting steel (d1422mm × 57mm) supplied by WISCO for the north section of the natural gas pipeline of China Russia east line has set a new historical record: the diameter of 1422mm, the wall thickness of 57mm, and the minimum service ambient temperature of - 40 ℃ are all the most X80 long-distance pipelines in the global pipeline industry.

Since this year, WISCO has vigorously promoted the re optimization of customer structure and product structure, continuously developed high-end boutique products in close combination with the needs of high-end users, and identified high-end products such as 30mm ~ 57mm X80 pipe fitting steel as the research and development focus. As the X80 Pipeline Steel researched and developed this time not only challenges the limit of thickness specification, but also reduces the impact test temperature from - 30 ℃ to - 45 ℃ in the technical conditions. However, the impact energy value has increased from the original maximum of 70 joules to 135 joules, exceeding the maximum requirement of 95 joules in the national standard, which is the first time at home and abroad. WISCO and CNPC jointly set up a research group to re optimize and re design the steel composition and production process according to the special needs of the project. After several rounds of trial production, the problem of low-temperature toughness instability of steel plate has been successfully solved, and all indicators are superior to the requirements of customers, so as to achieve stable supply in large quantities.
